GOREVILLE — The Goreville Blackcats opened play in their own Invitational Tournament with an impressive 89-43 win over Johnston City.
The Blackcats led 18-12 after one and broke it open in the second half, extending their lead to 48-27 by halftime before cruising to the huge tournament opening win.
Both teams will continue play in the tournament Tuesday. Goreville will take on Hardin County in the nightcap at 8:30 following Johnston City and Benton. Anna-Jonesboro will face Hamilton County in the opener at 5:30.
