MARION — The Carbondale Terriers rallied from an eight-point fourth quarter deficit to take the lead, but Champaign Central scored with three seconds left giving the Maroons a 52-51 at the Wildcat Shootout Saturday in Marion.
Carbondale took a 51-50 lead on Tavaris Macklin’s three-point play with 31.3 seconds to play, but after a timeout, Central’s Pryce Punkay buried the go ahead jumper. Punkay led all scorers with 31, includng 8-11 from three-point range.
The Terriers fall to 3-2. They’ll visit Jackson County rival Murphysboro Tuesday.
