WAYNE CITY — The Woodlawn Lady Cardinals beat Wayne City/Cisne 47-44 to advance the championship game at the Midland Trail Conference Tournament Monday night.
The Lady Cardinals led 20-18 at the half and pushed that lead to seven in the third quarter, only to watch the Lady Indians rally.
Wayne City/Cisne eventually tied the game 39-39 in the fourth quarter, but Woodlawn scored four quick points to regain the lead.
The Lady Cardinals led by three in the final seconds and held on when Wayne City/Cisne’s Jocelyn Hall missed a potential tying three-pointer at the buzzer.
Woodlawn will face either Christ Our Rock Lutheran or Webber Thursday night in the championship game.
