HARRISBURG — Kegan Peek poured in 37 points to help lead Crab Orchard to the championship game of the GEC Tournament with a 69-61 win over Gallatin County.
The Hawks, looking for their second straight upset in the tournament, led 35-29 at the half, but Crab Orchard scored the first 15 points of the third quarter. Including the final basket of the first half, the Trojans put together a 17-0 run to run a 35-27 deficit into a 44-35 lead.
The Hawks got as close as five early in the fourth, but Peek and company had the answers, extending the lead back to double digits before settling for the eight-point win.
Hunter Throgmorton and Tony Lakotich added 11 points apiece for Crab Orchard. Dawson Hish led the Gallatin County with 25. Gunner Wilson added 18.
The Trojans will face top-seeded NCOE in the championship game Saturday night at 8:30. Gallatin County will meet Pope County in the third place game at 7:00.
