COBDEN — The Cairo Pilots put five in double figures to beat Egyptian 86-74 and earn a spot in the championship game of the Cobden 1A Regional.
Tied at 22, the Pilots took control with a 13-3 second quarter run that helped them build a 37-29 lead by halftime. Cairo broke it open in the third, extending the lead to 19 before coasting to the 12-point win.
Daurice Maurice led the Pilots with 20 points. Terrell Jones added 18, Alton Hervey 15, Dequavius Williams 13, and Riko Nelson 10. Tyrome Huff led the Pharaohs with 28. Christian Trexler added 17.
The Pilots will take on the host Appleknockers Friday night at 7:00.
