MARION — Marion sophomore Conner Wade took over as the public address announcer at Southern Illinois Raceway when he was 11 years old. This summer, the now 16-year old Wade will have a new gig, as he will be joining POWRi TV as an on-air personality. As Wade describes it, racing’s version of a sideline reporter.
POWRi TV is a new streaming service that will follow the entire POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget schedule. That schedule is currently on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Races are scheduled throughout the midwest through mid-October.
During the school year, Wade hosts the Wildcat Wrap-Up, the official podcast of the Marion Wildcats as well as doing the PA for various Wildcats’ sporting events.
