METROPOLIS — Mallory (Gentry) McVey knows all about the Massac County Lady Patriots golf dynasty–she was a key member of the teams that started it, including the 2006 1A state championship team.

Now she’ll be leading the charge as the team’s head coach.

McVey takes over for Laurie Glass who was the head coach for the past five seasons, leading Massac County to a state championship in 2017 and a pair of runner up finishes (2015, 2018).

The Lady Patriots had their streak of 14 straight state appearances snapped last fall. Since 2006, Massac County has won nine state trophies–four championship, three second place, and two third place.
