MURPHYSBORO — Murphysboro High School has filled its head girls basketball coach and head volleyball coaching positions, and both hires are quite familiar to the school.

Red Devil alum Karen Jurich is the new head girls basketball coach. Jurich teaches at Murphysboro Middle School where she coaches the Blue Devils track team. She also is the head volleyball coach at Herrin.

Apryl Gordon will return for a second season as the Red Devils head volleyball coach. Gordon took over as head coach last season after spending close to two decades as a Red Devils assistant coach. She also serves as the assistant golf coach at Murphysboro.
