MT. VERNON — Our first Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois MVT–Most Valuable Teacher Award goes to Mt. Vernon Township High School Ag teacher and FFA adviser Ms. Cherie Rogier.
Ms. Rogier is no stranger to awards, as she was named the Top Agriculture Teacher in the state back in 2016.
Rogiers’ students describe her as an “all-out awesome person who will do anything she can to help her students succeed. She encourages her students to develop their underlying talents. She is enthusiastic and caring. Also, she stays after school and makes herself available to students and parents who need to talk to her.”
The pandemic has created many challenges with the blended learning model, but Rogier has been up to the task. She says it has been a lot of work, but the best part is being able to see her students in person.
If you know of an MVT, let us know. You can nominate a Most Valuable Teacher here.
