ELDORADO — The CZR Bearcats scored 16 points in a span of 15 seconds in the second quarter, then held on to beat Eldorado 22-16.

Bearcats senior Caleb Davis scored the game’s first points with a two-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He then added the two-point conversion for an 8-0 CZR lead.

The Eagles fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and the Bearcats recovered. On their first offensive play after the turnover, Colin Sveda hit Elijah Reeves for a 26-yard touchdown pass. Davis added another two-point conversion for a 16-0 Bearcats’ lead.

Eldorado cut that lead in half on its next possession, as Parker Price scored on a six yard touchdown, and Aiden Whitlock ran in the two-point conversion.

CZR led 16-8 at the half. Both teams scored once in the second half for the final score.

The Bearcats improve to 3-1 and will host unbeaten Johnston City Friday night. The Eagles fall to 2-2. They will travel to Edwards County, also on Friday night.
