JOHNSTON CITY — Massac County Lady Patriots are headed to the state softball semifinals for the first time in school history after beating Freeburg 3-1 to capture the Johnston City 2A Supersectional.

Jenna Bunting homered and drove in a pair to lead the Massac County offensively, while Cali McCraw gave up only one run in the complete game victory.

The Lady Patriots will play Rockridge at 12:30 Wednesday in one semi final at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex. Joliet Catholic will face Tolono Unity in the other semifinal to be played at the same time. The winners will play for the 2A State Championship at 5:00. The losers will play for the third place at 4:00
