HARRISBURG — There will be plenty of firsts for Harrisburg head football coach Matt Griffith in his first year of head coaching. He’s already had a few, including the team’s first “Meet the Bulldogs” night.

Kindergartners through 5th graders had a chance to get on the field for a fun night of practicing with the Bulldogs’ football players and cheerleaders Thursday night. Nearly 50 kids took part in several different football drills with another dozen working with the cheerleaders.

Griffith said he hopes this becomes an annual event, adding he thought the coaches and players were having as much, if not more, fun than the kids.

The Bulldogs will open the season at home next Friday night (8/27) against Cerro Gordo/Bement.
