DU QUOIN — Heading into the regular season finale, the Du Quoin Indians had more than enough playoff points (opponents’ wins) to get into postseason, but they had to get to five wins to be eligible. After Du Quoin grabbed a 7-0 lead in the second quarter, Murphysboro scored twice over a three-minute span. Both scores were 8-yard touchdown runs by Ethan Finke to give the Red Devils a 14-7 lead at the half.

The Indians dominated the second half, outscoring Murphysboro 21-0 to wrap up the playoff clinching win. Senior quarterback David Lee accounted for all four Indians’ touchdowns–two 1-yard TD runs and two TD passes.
