We saw a pair of Southern Spine & Rehab Primetime Performances Wednesday night in the volleyball sectional finals.

NCOE was dominant from the start, jumping out to an 18-5 lead in game 1 and cruising to a 25-14, 25-17 win over Cumberland to take the Wayne City 1A Sectional championship. The Fighting Cardinals advance to Friday night’s Casey-Westfield Super-sectional against Champaign St. Thomas More.

And then there’s the Carterville Lady Lions, who were already down a set and trailed Nashville 16-6 in the second set, before rallying to win the Johnston City 2A Sectional championship 21-25, 25-23, 25-23, the first volleyball sectional title in school history. The Lady Lions advance to the Nashville Super-sectional Friday night against Breese Mater Dei.
