DU QUOIN — Du Quoin used a pair of big first half runs to take care of Murphysboro 49-18 in the final game of the opening night of the Lady Indians’ Tip-Off Classic.

The Lady Indians used a 17-1 run during the first and second quarters to take control, and then closed the half with 11 straight to lead 30-6 at the intermission before cruising to the 31-point win.

Du Quoin’s Abbi Mocaby led all scorers with 11. Ten Lady Indians scored on the night. Tabytha Young led Murphysboro with 10.

Woodlawn beat Christopher 49-40 in the first game. The tournament will continue Wednesday night with Christopher meeting Murphysboro, and Woodlawn facing off with Du Quoin in the second game of the night.
