HERRIN — Herrin’s Haydon Mayer is the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week for December 27-January 1.

Mayer was named MVP of the Eldorado Holiday Tournament, after helping lead the Tigers to their first EHT title. The Tigers are a youthful bunch, starting a freshman and two sophomores. That makes Mayer, who is a junior, one of the older guys in the rotation. He likes the makeup of his team.

The Tigers extended their winning ways past Eldorado…piling up an 8 game winning streak. Mayer says there’s still plenty of work to get done and room to improve.
