HARRISBURG — Galatia was the big story of the opening round at the Greater Egyptian Conference Tournament, as the seventh-seeded Bearcats upset second-seeded Crab Orchard in the first. Third-seeded NCOE made sure there would be another upset in the semifinals, rolling past Galatia 68-40.

The Fighting Cardinals used a balanced attack putting four in double figures led by Joel Hortin’s 16 points. Cord Tucker and Preston Long added 12 apiece, and Cole Roberson chipped in 11.

NCOE will meet top-seeded Hardin County for the championship Saturday night at 8:30. Galatia will face Pope County in the game prior for third place.
