CENTRALIA — The Centralia Orphans are regional champs after beating the Mt. Vernon Rams 54-42 Friday night in the Centralia 3A Regional title game.
The Rams scored five seconds into the game to lead 2-0, but that was their only lead of the night. The Orphans got 19 points from junior Koby Wilmoth and 17 from senior Davin Tabor in the victory. Each team made five three-pointers in the game, with the biggest one for Centralia coming from senior Jeremy Dalton in the 4th.
Both teams had two players each in double figures. NJ Benson led the Rams with 14 points while Colin McClure scored 11. The Rams finish the season 22-10.
The Orphans improve to 28-3 on the season and now advance to the Highland Sectional, where they will take on the Glenwood Titans Tuesday night. Game time is 7:00 pm. Glenwood roughed up Jacksonville in the Glenwood Regional championship game 64-25.
