CARBONDALE — Devon Clemons and Ethan Finke combined for more than 280 yards rushing and four touchdowns to lead the Murphysboro Red Devils to a 41-20 win over Carbondale in the 104th Jackson County Bragging Rights Game.
Clemons finished the night with 176 yards rushing and three TDs. Finke wound up with 150 yards yards from scrimmage.
Murphysboro led 21-13 at the half then blew it open with 20 straight points in the second half. Kevin Hale and Zack Naas each had second half scores giving the Red Devils six rushing TDs on the night.
Martez Graham had a 19-yard touchdown run and Ian Davis booted field goals from 37 and 43 yards for the Terriers’ first half points. Brock Bowlby connected with Brennan Gleason for a 39-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter for the final points of the game.
Both teams will be home next week. Murphysboro will host Anna-Jonesboro, and Carbondale will welcome Granite City.
