Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through noon Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week. The poll is on the upper right-hand side of the page.

Here are the nominees:

Devon Clemons, Murphysboro: The senior rushed for 176 yards with 3 touchdowns and a 2-point conversion in the Red Devils’ 41-20 win over Carbondale.

Hollan Everett, NCOE: The senior had 58 kills, 8 blocks, 8 aces, and 12 digs in 8 matches last week. Everett was named MVP after helping lead the Fighting Cardinals to the championship of the Lady Mules Kickoff Tournament in Fairfield.

Dylon Nalley, Marion: The junior won the Marion Fast Start Invitational, setting a course record with a time of 15:11.

Navontae Nesbit, Mt. Vernon: The junior rushed for 179 yards with 2 touchdowns including an 86-yarder in the Rams’ 40-0 win over Taylorville.

Eric Rodgers, Fairfield: The senior threw for 188 yards and 3 touchdowns, ran for 50 yards and 2 touchdowns, and also had an interception in the Mules’ 34-14 win over Eldorado.

Isaac Teel, Pinckneyville: The junior won the Mascoutah Kickoff, besting 193 other runners with a time of 15:10

Malachi Tolliver, Flora: The senior threw for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns, rushed for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns, caught a pass for 46 yards and a touchdown, and also had an interception in the Wolves’ 47-14 win over CZR.

Reese Varel, Nashville: The senior had 40 kills, 20 blocks, 11 aces and 17 digs in 7 matches last week. Varel was named to the All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Hornettes to the championship of the SIRR Preview Tournament.
