Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through midnight Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:

Parker Boehne, Christ Our Rock Lutheran: The junior was named MVP after helping lead the Silver Stallions to the championship of the Vandalia Holiday Tournament. Boehne averaged 18 points and 5 rebounds in 5 games.

Roderick Gatewood Jr., Meridian: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic after averaging 25 points over 4 games, breaking the DTHC single tournament scoring record.

Cruz Harlan, Centralia: The junior was named 1st Team All-Tournament at the Centralia Holiday Tournament after averaging 12 points, 2.5 rebonds, 3 assists and 1 steal over 4 games helping lead the Orphans to a third place finish.

Nate Kaufman, Agape Christian: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Arthur Christian School Holiday Classic after he averaged 27 points and 16 rebounds over 4 games.

Alayna Kraus, Okawville: The junior was named 1st Team All-Tournament at the Mascoutah Invitational after averaging 19 points and 4 rebounds over 4 games helping lead the Lady Rockets to a fourth place finish.

Justice Malone, Mt. Vernon: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Lady Rams to the championship of the Benton Christmas Classic. Malone averaged 20 points and 5 rebounds over 4 games.

Haydon Mayer, Herrin: The senior was named MVP after helping lead the Tigers to their second straight championship at the Eldorado Holiday Tournament. Mayer averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists over 4 games.

Lexi McKinney, Edwards Co.: The junior was named MVP after helping lead the Lions to the championship of the Merry Mule. McKinney averaged 16 points over 4 games including 20 in the title game win over Fairfield.

Drake Moss, Goreville: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Blackcats to the championship game of the Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament. Moss averaged 14 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and was 16-16 from the free throw line in the tournament.

Evan Noelle, Marion: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 13.5 points over 4 games to help lead the Wildcats to a third place finish at the Route 13 Christmas Classic.

DeCarl Payne, Carbondale: The junior was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Route 13 Christmas Classic after averaging 22 points per game over 4 games, including 34 in a loss to Jacksonville.

Ian Winkler, Richland Co.: The junior was named MVP after helping lead the Tigers to the championship of the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic. Winkler averaged 22 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in 4 games.
