Voting is now open and will run through midnight Friday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.
Here are the nominees:
Justin Durham, Wayne City: The senior averaged 32 points and 11 rebounds on 72% shooting from the field in 2 games. Durham scored 35 points in a win over Gallatin County to reach 1000 points in his career.
Tyler Franklin, Cobden: The senior averaged 30 points and 18 rebounds in 2 games. Franklin went for 26 points and 22 rebounds against Hardin County, then scored 34 against Elverado to reach 1500 points in his career.
Caden Hawkins, Carterville: The senior averaged 25.5 points helping the Lions to a pair of wins, including 29 against Hamilton County.
Charlie Hunter, Salem: The senior won the Salem Boys Bowling Regional with 1448 pins over 6 games, including a high game of 267. Hunter helped lead the Wildcats to the team title as well.
Chase Lannom, Herrin: The sophomore won the Mt. Vernon Boys Bowling Regional with 1380 pins over 6 games, including a high game of 245. Chase helped lead the Tigers to the team title as well.
Navontae Nesbit Jr., Mt. Vernon: The junior averaged 22.5 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists is 2 games for the Rams. Nesbit Jr. scored 26 points against Herrin, and had 19 points and 7 rebounds in a win at Centralia.
Ensley Tedeschi, Benton: The senior averaged 21 points in 3 games for the Rangerettes. Tedeschi scored 36 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and added 4 steals in a win over Herrin.
