CHRISTOPHER — After 15 years as an assistant coach at Belleville West and Collinsville, Tommy Spillan now has his own program to run, taking over as the head football coach of the CZR Bearcats.

Spillan replaces Grant Gordon, becoming the Bearcats third head coach in as many years. He wasn’t hired until the first week of June, so there’s been a lot to do in a short period of time.

The summer workouts have given Spillan and his new players the opportunity to get to know each other. It hasn’t taken the new coach long to make an impression with his players.

Spillan will make his official head coaching debut August 25th when the Bearcats visit Johnston City.
