They’re back! Congratulations again to Mt. Vernon Rams and Lady Rams Cross Country! They are Josh Finley Country Financial Rams of the Week from WMIX Sports for a second consecutive week on the heels of a great performance at the IHSA Class 2A Regional at Carbondale. The Rams finished runners up to Marion while the Lady Rams took 4th place–both qualify for Saturday’s (Nov. 2) Sectional at Olney.

The Lady Rams scored 138 behind Waterloo’s 43, Carterville’s 50, and Mascoutah’s 70. Individually, Sophomores Iylie Harris and Kennedy Bax finished 16th and 17th with 20:53.23 and 20:55.22 respectively.

The Rams only tailed Marion’s 65 with their team score of 86. Junior Joel Hayes was the top finisher in 6th place with his 16:15.83 while Rowan Wilford (Junior) also finished in the top 10 with 16:32.32.
