Congratulations, AGAIN, to Dillon White! The Rams’ senior wrestler continues to dominate, earning yet another Josh Finley, Country Financial Ram of the Week Award from WMIX Sports—and for good reason! White put on a stellar performance at the IHSA Class 2A Sectional in Lincoln, claiming another sectional championship and improving to 40-0 on the season.

After receiving a first-round bye, White wasted no time asserting his dominance. In the quarterfinals, he defeated Colton McClure (Mahomet-Seymour) by technical fall, 18-3, at 2:17. He followed up with a semifinal pin in just 1:22 over Nathen Herrin (Civic Memorial) to punch his ticket to the championship match.

In the finals, White sealed the sectional title with a 6-1 decision victory over Ben Capitosti (Mattoon).

With his undefeated season still intact, White has now shifted his focus to the IHSA State Tournament, where he will look to finish his perfect run and compete for a state championship. Currently, Dillon is in the semifinals after two technical fall victories in the first two rounds! He’s defeated Deerfield’s Alexander Shvartsman and Morris’s Carter Skoff. White awaits Immaculate Conception Catholic’s Aiden Arnett in the semis and is now sitting at 42-0 (as of 4:15 PM CT on Friday, February 21, 2025). Good luck, Dillon White!
