Congratulations to this week’s Josh Finley Country Financial Rams of the Week–Mt. Vernon Rams Basketball! The Mt. Vernon Rams improved to 18-10 with last week’s REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP at Carbondale. The South Seven Champion Rams battled another Conference Co-Champ, Marion, and pulled away in the second half to a 65-49 win. An opening 53-36 win over another conference rival in the host Carbondale Terriers set up this championship clash. The Regional Championship was the third straight for the Rams who’ve now won 48 in school history. The Rams would come up short in a Marion Sectional Championship bid after falling to Triad on Tuesday, 43-27. The Rams finished the season 18-11. Congratulations, Rams!
