VANDALIA — The Fairfield Lady Mules saw their record-setting volleyball season end one step shy of state as Breese Mater Dei dominated play at the Vandalia 2A Supersectional, winning 25-11, 25-8.

Mater Dei improves to 30-9 on the season. Next stop for the Lady Knights will be Redbird Arena in Normal next weekend. They will face St. Joseph-Ogden in the first 2A semifinal at noon.
