MARION — The Hamilton County Lady Foxes opened their season with a 53-30 win over Herrin at the Lady Cat Tip-Off Classic in Marion.
The Lady Foxes broke open a close game with a 13-2 run to start the second quarter. Hamilton County led 31-18 at the half.
Herrin closed within eight in the third, but the Lady Foxes used a big fourth quarter to seal the win.
Both teams will be in action Wednesday. Hamilton County will face Massac County at 5:30 with Herrin and Vienna to follow. Those games will be played in Herrin due to Marion’s school being closed Wednesday because of bed bugs.
