CARTERVILLE — It may only be December, but first place was on the line in the River to River Mississippi Tuesday night, as conference unbeatens Nashville and Carterville collided.
The Lady Lions led 24-15 at the half and still sported a 33-25 edge after three, but the Hornettes rallied in the fourth.
Nashville tied it at 38 in the final minute, but SIU signee Jeniah Thompson scored the game’s final three points giving Carterville a 41-38 win.
Thompson finished with a game high 16.
Carterville improves to 9-1 (3-0), while Nashville falls to 9-2 (2-1).
