ST. LOUIS — The Centralia Orphans made the most of their visit to St. Louis Friday night, improving to 2-0 with a 33-0 win over Gateway STEM.
The Orphans’ defense was dominant, pitching the shutout while holding the Jaguars to less than 150 yards of total offense. Eli Shaw and Davin Tabor led the effort with Shaw recording three sacks, and Tabor grabbing a pair of interceptions.
Centralia’s offense racked up more than 400 yards on the night. Quarterback Carson Green had another big night, accounting for three touchdowns. He threw two and ran 71 yards for the third. Amir Johnson scored twice, one rushing TD and a 25-yard TD reception. Caleb Wright got the scoring started with a 4-yard touchdown run. Tabor also contributed on offense with a 33-yard touchdown catch.
The Orphans (2-0) will host Mascoutah (2-0) Friday night at Evers Field in their home opener at 7:00 pm.
