MCLEANSBORO — The Hamilton Co Foxes improved to 2-3 with a 38-14 Homecoming night victory over Eldorado.
The Foxes jumped on top quickly with a score set up by the defense. Hamilton County returned Parker Price’s fumble on the Eagles’ opening possession to the three yard line, and on the very next play, Wyatt Richards took it in for a touchdown. The two-point conversion put the Foxes up 8-0.
Price and the Eagles answered quickly with a 43-yard touchdown pass to Josh Owens. The successful two-point conversion tied it at 8.
Hamilton County regained the lead three minutes later on an 11-yard TD run by Arion Allen. The Foxes led 14-8 at the half and used a strong second half to pull away for the 24-point win.
Allen led the Foxes with 92 yards on 10 carries. Hamilton County outgained Eldorado 310-206 including 178-63 in the 2nd half. The Eagles were held to just 55 rushing yards on the night. Price finished 8-12 for 151 yards and a TD for the Eagles in the loss.
Hamilton County will host Flora next Saturday. Eldorado falls to 1-4 and is at Sesser Valier Waltonville next Friday.
