NORRIS CITY — The NCOE Fighting Cardinals defeated Mt. Carmel 25-23, 25-10 Wednesday night for a milestone victory. The win was the 1000th in the program’s history, which dates back to 1974.

The Fighting Cardinals have had only two coaches in the program’s history–Cathy Black, who won 620 matches in 31 seasons and Jaclyn Melton, who up to 380 wins in her 17th season.

NCOE, who is ranked sixth in our latest Volleyball Coaches’ Poll, has four regular season games left and will be the number one seed in the Gallatin County 1A Regional in two weeks.
