MARION — Freshman Kyrese Lukens along with sophomores Exavier Williams and Jonathan Harrison combined for 36 points to lead Herrin past previously unbeaten Breese Central 47-33.
Both teams struggled to score in the first half, with Herrin taking a 13-11 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Tigers took control in the second half, outscoring the Cougars 34-22.
Lukens led the way for Herrin with 14 points. Williams added 12, and Harrison posted a double-double with 10 points to go with 12 rebounds.
Central’s Brady Moore led all scorers with 17.
