MARION — The Marion Lady Wildcats celebrated Senior Night with a 49-37 win over Herrin. Junior Jerzy Bittle led the Lady Wildcats with 15, while senior Gracie Connor added 12.

Marion broke open a close game with a 10-0 third quarter run, helping turn a 23-20 halftime lead into a 13-point advantage. Herrin cut it to 35-26 by the end of the third quarter, and got as close as eight in the fourth quarter. The Lady Wildcats put it away with another 10-1 spurt late before settling for the 12-point win.

After the game, Marion honored Bittle, who recently became the 10th player in program history to reach 1000 points. Seven of the nine other 1000 point scorers returned to give Bittle the game ball from her milestone night.
