ELDORADO — Massac County head coach Joe Hosman celebrated milestone win number 800 on the final night of the regular season. One week later, he and the Patriots won a regional title.

Massac County used a big second half to beat Hamilton County 63-45 to win the Eldorado 2A Regional championship. The Patriots led by one at the half, then outscored the Foxes 36-19 in the second half to pull away for the win.

Massac County junior Brody Smallman hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 20 points. Isaac Hosman added 15 for the Patriots. Wyatt Hamson led the Foxes with 12. Jaden York added 10.

Massac County advances to the Carterville Sectional. The Patriots will face either Breese Central or Mater Dei in the first semifinal Tuesday night at 7:00.

Hamilton County finishes a great season at 29-4.
