CENTRALIA — Centralia’s Kylie Gormann is the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week for March 21-26.

The senior won the long jump and finished fourth in the triple jump at the Illinois Top Times 2A Indoor State Championship in Bloomington.

Gormann has lofty goals for the outdoor season. She finished fourth in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump last June at the IHSA 2A State Championship, results that have driven her preparation for state this year.

Gormann says the area she needs to improve on the most is mental approach. One thing she doesn’t have to worry about is college. Gormann has already made that decision, and she’ll be headed to Murray State next year.
