HARRISBURG — The Harrisburg Bulldogs have lost only two games all season–one in SIRR Ohio play, 17-12 at Murphysboro. That win had the Red Devils in line for at least a share of the conference title, but losses to Herrin and Benton opened the door for the Bulldogs, and they took full advantage.
Harrisburg junior Noah Arnold tossed a 3-hit shutout, striking out six along the way. Arnold was 2-3 with an RBI at the plate as the Bulldogs wrapped up the Ohio championship outright with a 6-0 win.
Arnold, Grant Wilson, and Brendan Bergan all had two hits for Harrisburg with Wilson, Arnold, Camron Ande and Ethan Golish all driving in runs.
Harrisburg improves to 22-2 on the season, finishing 9-1 in the conference. Murphysboro falls to 11-6, 6-3 in the conference. The Red Devils will close out SIRR Ohio play Friday against West Frankfort.
