Collinsville spoils Centralia home opener

Centralia — The Centralia Orphans fell to 0-2 on the season Friday night as the Collinsville Kahoks spoiled the home-opener at Evers Field winning 34-14. The Kahoks, now 1-1, took a 7-0 lead late in the first quarter on a 55-yd touchdown run from running back Ryan McIntyre.
Collinsville would get three more scores before half, a 6-yd touchdown from Zay Norton, a 21-yd run from QB Darren Pennell and a 37-yd touchdown reception from KJ Thorps-Watt. The Kahoks took a 27-0 lead to the locker room at halftime.
Amari Rodgers-Parro added a 68-yard touchdown reception for Collinsville to take a 34-0 lead late in the 3rd quarter. Centralia would get on the scoreboard with 8 seconds left in the 3Q on a 23-yard td run from sophomore Mike Brown. The Orphans would add another score early in the 4th on a fumble recovery td run of 35 yards by Jaylin Hoskins.
Centralia had 238 yards of offense on the night, while Collinsville totaled 398 yards. Centralia will host Althoff next Friday night. Collinsville will host Carbondale.
